Dave Aftandilian Richly textured medieval atmospheres beautifully evoke feelings of melancholy, loss, and longing, but also hope and wonder. Like looking through the window from inside a lonely castle at night and being transfixed by a vision of a shining lady slowly walking through the garden, long braided hair gently swaying, tears shining on her cheeks. You rush down to comfort her, but by the time you arrive, you see only a slender white blossom nodding in the moonlight.

The journey continues through the halls of An Old Sad Ghost, who has been crafting his tormented sculptures in the dungeons since 2016. On this intriguing fourth chapter in the Carmilla heptalogy from late 2017, dark depressive dungeon synth meets lofi medievalist melancholia. Moments of quiet despondency in the castle garden is disturbed by the war drums of unknown forces making their way through the surroundings until "The Golden Knight" appears for an epic conclusion.
